Our Learning Agreement
Welcome to the PADI Open Water Diver Course. Diver training courses are meant to be fun, but like any form of learning, you'll need to invest some time and effort reading and studying. Student Responsibilities You agree to study independently as specified by the instructor. In general, this means that before each class session, you will watch the appropriate assigned portions of the course video or CD-ROM. Read the appropriate assigned course manual section and complete the Quick Quiz questions. Complete the appropriate assigned Knowledge Review to be handed in at the start of the class In addition, you agree to: 1. Follow all course procedures as set forth by the instructor 2. Ask questions about anything not understood 3. Show up for all sessions on time and be prepared If you arrive at class, but has failed to complete and turn in assigned work, or if you failed to arrive on time, it may be necessary to make up the work and continue at a later date. You will be responsible for any additional costs and/or inconveniences this causes. In scheduling and determining additional costs, Sandia Snorkel and Scuba, Inc. agrees to give every reasonable consideration to unforeseen events, such as family emergencies that lead to this situation. Instructor/Staff Responsibilities The course instructor and staff agree to 1. Start the class as scheduled 2. Provide a positive learning environment in which to master the course objectives 3. Answer your questions to the best of their ability and assist you through learning challanges We Never Give Up Policy We want you to know that we are genuinely concerned with your individual needs and interest regarding diving. We set you up to succeed, one step at a time. The "Standard Package Program" revolves around a two (2) back-to-back weekends schedule. Although the pace and the format fits most of our customers, there may be some extra charges to reach your goal to become an Open Water Diver. This particularly, if additional classroom or pool time is called for. Please see our Miscellaneous Charges Page. If you complete all course work as assigned, arrive for class promptly as scheduled and otherwise follow directions for learning given by the instructors, Sandia Snorkel and Scuba, Inc. accepts responsibility for learning challenges. Course objectives must be met before you are certified. Sandia Snorkel and Scuba, Inc. will schedule additional training session. In situations like this, there may be some minor charges for instructor time, equipment rental and pool fees until a) You master the course objective or b) You voluntarily discontinue the course. In this case there is no refund of the course fee. After a significant break, returning student divers, you may be asked to do a classroom and/or a pool review before continuing the Open Water Training Dives.
