Welcome to Your Open Water Diver Course
Objective
This course is to provide you, the student diver, with the information you will need to become an exceptionally safe, well trained, well equipped and avid scuba diver.

You start the course by reading the book and watching the video in the comfort of your home. We then reinforce the academics of scuba diving in a casual classroom setting, where we go through all the equipment that you will need for scuba diving and talk about the reason for owning your own equipment. After all, as divers you will want and need scuba equipment at some point.

We also discuss the value of taking specialty courses and additional training. There is so much more dive information available, that we can not place in a basic Open Water Diver Certification Course.

The fundamental skills of scuba diving we teach during two sessions in the pool with lots of repetition and ample chance for you to practice. Should you feel more comfortable with more pool practice, then, Just let us know and we will schedule some more practice. Some divers come back to the pool after their Open Water weekend to further hone their skills

During the Open Water Weekend, it is time for you to demonstrate what you have already learned in the classroom and the pool. Over two days, we do at least four dives in Open Water. There is plenty of time to become comfortable with the environment.

Schedule
The package course revolves around two consecutive weekends preceeded by a short introductory evening

Equipment
The best comfort achieved is when you own your own equipment. You should consider investing in some real scuba equipment.
Not just the kind of "Fit for the kids in the pool" type of mass merchandised guppie gear.

Remember, the basic Mask & Snorkel, Fins & Booties and Gloves are an important first step in water comfort.
These are available as rentals. Fees are $22.50 and may be applied toward purchase of similar equipment, if exercised before final certification.
